It's the God's honest truth.
Couple that up with big healthcare conglomerates that push their doctors to sell procedures and tests by finding a reason for said procedures and tests, even if there isn't one. They know now that they're going to bank off of all the new health insurance policies and the fat co-pays the patient will be stuck paying.

John Oliver could have dug a little deeper and hit the rest of the mother lode...
Big pharma paying teaching doctors to instruct in treating symptoms with their drugs instead of finding a cure for the illness.
Big pharma also pulls drugs off the market if they actually work, replacing them with drugs that only treat the symptoms.

Has anyone actually seen a drug commercial and asked their doctor if that drug is right for them?

"It's all enough to make you sick."

Maybe that's their aim.
