I forgot about the use of Magnetic Torpedoes since I was away.
If I am corrected, I have to set speed to slow on torpedo, and of course magnetic pistol. What is optimal distance under keel of ship to set the depth of torpedo? For example, if ship keel under the surface is 7.9m, I have 1m or less to play with? Also I just notice this mod, FX_Update_0_0_22_Torpedoes - MagDet range 3m (modified for torpedoes failure patches). I assume it increase the range under keel to 3m or is that something else? Thanks guys! ![]() Edit: Is the 3m pretty accurate to what the real torpedo was capable of? Minus failures in the magnetic triggering. Was magnetic failures common? I usually go with 2-3 meters below the draft level. Don't try it in rough seas though, go with impact or shallow runners for that.

You can still use the fast speed settings, and also go for above the keel. I keep the aim spot at least 2 meters above the keel. I've not had good luck below the keel to break it's back..... except for Destroyers with a head-on shot. With a Destroyer you want the fast setting with steam torpedos or you'll have a tough time sinking them when they're within 800 meters.
