Hi all, I'm usually on the SH3 boards but as i have just purchased SH4, i would like some advice if its possible. Is there any Mods one should use to enhance the game? I use GWX on SH3 and is there anything along simelar lines for SH4? Also any realism mods would be helpful. I'm not too bothered about it being so real i can nearly taste the air, as it's just a game, but things that will enhance the gameplay and environment of the game. Thanks very much

Sounds like TMO (Trigger Maru Overhauled) is the right mod for you: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132330
It's probably the most comprehensive mod feature-wise, and its approach to realism is more to make the game believably difficult, challenging and full-featured than get every single little detail exactly correct. You can also combine it with RSRDC (Run Silent, Run Deep: The Campaign) which is probably the most realistic campaign developed for Silent Hunter - all of the convoys, task forces and major warships in it appear exactly where they would have historically, based on Japanese wartime records of ship movements. Alternatively, there are also can also RFB (Real Fleet Boat) and FOTRS (Fall of the Rising Sun) mods, which many also like. Have fun! |

![]() TMO and RFB are both excellent mods(coupled with RSRD) but both are different flavors. Like CCIP said, sounds like TMO may be more what you're looking for. It doesn't overdo the realism. Ducimus' (the mod's creator) philosophy was basically to make a mod to make you behave like a real sub skipper would, even at the expense of nuts and bolts realism. Don't get me wrong, RFB is excellent. I have played both and enjoy both, but I do tend to lean toward TMO overall. Can't say anything about FOTRS as I've never tried it but I doubt you can go wrong with. Best advice- try 'em all and choose the one you like best. ![]()
