Here's the actual pre-conference agenda; the document that all the hubbub is about.

http://www.un.org/disarmament/convar...E_20120307.pdf

Looks to be about stopping illegal arms transfers between states and various less-than-legal entities. Like stopping Iran from funneling guns to various Islamic insurgent groups. You'd think The Right would be doing cartwheels over it. Nope. The call of 'not our guns' is out. Must be an election year or something.

Wrong, brother. 9-11 has nothing to do with it. It's these hairless little freaks:

Scuttlebutt has it they have a powerful 'in' with the Democrats: the 'Atmospheric Gases and Hydraulic Extraction' lobby. The Mayans didn't see this one coming.

This is on page 11 of the above referenced document.

"6. Recognizing further the sovereign right of States to determine any regulation of internal transfers of arms and national ownership exclusively within their territory, including through national constitutional protections on private ownership,"

See? No effect on personal ownership in USA.

A small arms treaty, to protect the worlds citizens from gun violence well well it only seems like the unarmed are getting shot up and subjected to tyranny, well they should have been armed, Well it sounds like a yur a pee in, problem, we are no where close to those islamic terrorist states to give them guns, besides our government is too busy giving gun to the mexican drug lords, take it up with the Russians and the Chinese, the weapon of choice to terrorist is the ak 47, and we know where that comes from.

I'll take it that you still didn't read the actual document.

No, the aim is to stop illegal arms traffic to terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda and Hamas and the Taliban. You know, people that tend to shoot at our troops. There is nothing in there about infringement on the Second Ammendment. In fact, the document seems to go out of it's way to state the protection of national sovereignty as pertaining to private citizens.

Or perhaps you'd just rather drink the Kool-Aid.

What about the 20 to 30 million illegals that are in country already, don't know who they are, or what they are up to, pretty sizeable invasion force.

About the only thing the UN is able to take away is all the parking in NYC.

There are about 55 Million gun owners in 'murica. That's equal to nearly 2000 divisions of armed personnel. To paraphrase a famous European leader (and minor internet celebrity) 'How many divisions does the UN have?'

I figured mentioning Joe Stalin as a minor internet celebrity would give it away that I was being sarcastic...
