He's back at Westminster

George Galloway smashes Labour's hold over Bradford West as he sweeps away Labour after 34 years of control.

Give them Hell George, as you return to House of Commons. Let slip the dogs of war, give the swine big three a hard bloody time.

Ed Milliband you should have won! Weak leadership, weak party.

I have a very contrasted view of Galloway, he is a brilliant orator and usually makes sense but I still don't like him.

Aye, he can speak well...but he's usually just full of hot air. I can't disagree with his speech after the victory though, well, I can't disagree with two parts of it:

"There are very large numbers of people completely disenchanted and alienated from the political process and from the mainstream political parties...There is no difference between the Tories, the Lib Dems and New Labour, or at least not a sufficient difference for anyone to notice or care."

And that Labour "must stop imagining that working people and poor people have no option but to support them if they hate the Tory and Liberal Democrat coalition partners."

As STEEDs sig says, the big three have utterly failed to put forward either a proper leader or a proper mission, they have all lost their sense of direction. Labour is in the wilderness after the early successes of New Labour came crashing down in the last election, the Lib Dems have sold themselves out for a chance at power and the Tories are just as disconnected with the people as they were thirty years ago.

I hope that Galloways victory is the wake-up call for Labour that it needs to be, but I doubt it.

The next big test is the London mayoral election I believe...personally I think Ken's going to get back in that one.

It shows how bad the other 3 are standing right now.
Nice to see the Libs lose their deposit but its a pity Laud Hope didn't get a bigger share of the vote.

Labour is not the working man's party any more, they say they are but this is bull. Liberals are whores, they will jump in to bed with any party that they can you know what in the back door. Conservatives will always look after the rich and banks by screwing the middle and working class.

Edward..."True socialist's would never vote for Labour they suck up to the rich".

Edward is my mate who is 70 odd and feels betrayed by Labour, he votes for smaller socialist's party's.
