I was wondering about the "stabilised view" option in the Gameplay Options. I'm going to assume that the TBT was a somewhat stabilised unit, and while makeing an observation through it, the view wouldn't be bouncing and rolling all over the place. On the other hand, a watchmen useing binoculars would be subject to the pitches and rolls of the boat.
If this is true, is there a way to have a stabilised view when looking through the TBT (and the periscope if applicable) and an unstabilised view while looking through the binoculars? ![]() By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Captains! Have a good one! |

The original TBT was similar to the German UZO, being simply a mounting for a pair of binoculars to transmit the target bearing to the TDC. Later TBTs held a pair of binoculars in a permanent watertight housing. There is nothing to indicate that there was any stabilization at all. The hand-held binoculars were probably more stable, since the person using them automatically adjusted for motion.
