Yep, it helped ancient civilisations with their teenage pregnancy rate, just like today, keeping the species going!

Actually, it was was very useful in areas that did not have a ready supply of fresh water, or an area where the water supply was entirely seasonal.

Fox news? I thought they believed that "God" just spawned our Civilization in its current form.

Seriously though that's cool, though you'd think they'd care more about food, but I suppose you gotta do something with the extra grain less it just rots.

"lubricated the rise of society"? I know beer has lubricated the rise of some tings over the years...but never civilization

Hummmmm. First thing Fox News has ever published that I could say I agree with.

"Beer. The cause of, and the solution to all of life's problems"

For a large proportion of British history, beer was favoured over water. Water was for washing stuff, beer was for drinking. It looks like not much has changed.

Depends on what image your referring to. There are many 'images' out there for every locale/populace not only in the UK but the world.

Opinions are like bottomholes, everybody has one and some stink more than others

Me personally, yes I'm quite proud of my roots and heritage but probably no more than other folk worldwide
