BSoD on loading a save game!?

Even if you stick to the rules about saving a game sometimes you get a CTD,thats a known bug.

Today I tried to load one of the saved games and got BSoD!!!

After five attempts I finally give up and tried with the previous save which worked perfectly.
The only problem is that I lost my tonnage,a good 6000t with the canoe.Since it was my first patrol i've decide to start over my career.

Something was seriously wrong with that save game!

I've also had this happen a lot, especially after the first patrol. It seems like the second one is high risk.

It happens, I lost 30,000 tons once when a patrol kept causing the game to crash. Now BSoD, but I still lost that patrol

most blue screens are caused by hardware problems, most of mine are from overclocking. I'd prime95 it for a night just to make sure everything is functioning as it should.

No overclocking here, but I have some problems with the cooler,so overheating could be the answer, but then the question is why was no problem with the other saved game.

About prime95,thanks for the advice,I will try it.

yeah it could be anything really, but at least with prime95 you will know 100% that your pc is stable.

Is your heatsink/fan dirty/dusty? An easy and cheap way to drop an old CPU's temp is to remove it, clean the fan and the heatsink, clean the bottom of the heatsink off with 99% rubbing alchohol (isopropyl) and apply some new thermal paste. I just cut 20 degrees off an old AMD chip by doing this for a friend yesterday.

I have about 15 saved games each patrol.. I save all the time.. If one doesn't work, I go to the next one, eventually I will get one that works.. It happens about every 3 or so patrols.

Definitely must save more often in the future to prevent such things.

Work has just commenced on finding the reasons for CTD's and hopefully coming up with a solution but I agree, the BSoD is usually down to hardware problems.

I am surprised that it has been a while since I seen one, since I push my hardware quite hard. I got my video card running to the hilt right now at 904mhz and 1.87v
