Screenshot Complications?

Well I just encountered a large task force, and that force has this wierd looking ship, that to me looks like a pocket battleship, i went close to it with external cam and meant to take a screenshot, but i cant. i know how to do it, Ctrl + F11, but the retards who designed this keyboard made the F9-F12 keys unusable. they have......Video watching symbols like pause rewind and i cant get it to work. i heard some1 mention taking a....clipboard screenshot with print screen button or something, and i cant remember what he said exactly nor do i know where to find it. is there any other way to take a screenshot without using another program?

Most PC keyboards have a button called PrntScrn, or something like that. Mine is located just to the right of the last of the function keys. It takes a snapshot of the entire screen and saves it to the clipboard. You need to then open an image editor and paste that image into it. This is what I was doing before I knew about the Ctrl-F11 combo, which is much more convenient.

Good luck!

The clipboard is where stuff that's copied via Ctrl-C is stored temporarily.
To retrieve it, press Ctrl-V (or select "Paste" in you image editing software), and the screenshot should appear in it.

In some versions of Windows there are clipboard viewers available, but they wouldn't help you much with binary content (like an image) anyway, so just paste whatever is in your clipboard, and you should be able to get those screenshots.

Are you playing on a Laptop or computer??

I know for my Laptop (Mac.. still working on geting Windows 7 to run bootcamp..) that there is a setting in my control pannel that lets me choose whether those icons on the Function Keys (Turn Volume Up/Down, Fastforward/Rewind, etc) are on or off.

Check in your control pannel\Keyboard area and you should see a similar option to check.

Why don't you just download Fraps and use that instead?

There's a free version, but to be honest I payed for it years ago and am still getting updates for it so it's well worth the money in my book.

Fraps never compresses files, so every video is about 500MB, more with SH5, and since i already lag my BALLS off because i have an 80 year old ATi radeon 3200 that itd be too laggy for words. unless your talking about....screenshots with fraps? maybe i could try THAt. video is a definite HELL NO. Even with ALL enhancements off, and res at lowest my game get 9 FPs at an average. when i have a convoy with escorts about 5 FPS and with a TASK FORCE? that like 1-2 max. its terrible, and i NEEEEEEEEEEEED a new card. plan to ask for it on christmas. god i wish getting a job was easier .

Oh no - I was talking purely screenshot. If I tried to take a movie whilst in-game, the whole thing would turn into a slideshow.

*rant*
I just reinstalled SH5 after several months and cannot believe this! What the hell is going on here??? How is it possible that a game developer does not simply use PrtScn button to take a screenshot like every other frigg'in game in the universe (almost).. Really, I would like to know what they were smoking.. Argg... Well, there is another keystroke I need to retrain my old brain to switch and remember for one "special" game that has to be different for no good reason....

Depending on your OS you can access a clip board manager by going to start/run and entering "clipbrd.exe" with out quotes or open it manually from C:/Windows/system32 for most computers.
