So I'm crawling up the east coast of England in my third mission in my IXB.
Suddenly, there is a task force coming right across my nose! One destroyer and one battlecruiser! I set up a perfect approach, dial in the speed at 26 knots, and fire a spread of 4 torpedoes at about 1500m. All pass astern of the target, and they sail away! ![]() So I continue north, and round Scappa Flow. In AN11 low and behold I come across something I have never seen before - a FLEET CARRIER! And it is UNESCORTED!!!! Again I set up a perfect shot. It was heading south, right across my path. I fired from like 600m. 4 torpedoes. High Speed steamers. They all pass astern! I missed by a mile (speed was dialed in at 19 knots). So what to do? I whip around and fire my stern tubes, but it was too late. They missed. So....I surfaced! I chased that carrier for probably 100km, shelling it with my 105. I bet I hit her 30 times. She caught fire, but never slowed down.
