Default Smoke on the Horizon / Ship Sighted!

Hello ...

I wonder if you like me... ( even after tweaking a few things with the time compression ) still frequently find during a patrol that your time compression has been cut down to x 32 and so you think "hmmmm something is coming this way... " but your watch dont spot anything... so you put the time compression back up to 64 or 128 and then find that you have sailed your way into a destroyer without your crew shouting out ANYTHING whatsoever as a warning............. until you hear explosions and now all there is to do is eat British shells and go to the bottom.

Could some one think about modding in an old sh3 style Ship Spotted! window with a choice of actions like dive to periscope depth? I would love you long long long time for this!

There is an alternative to deal with this problem - dont rely on your watch crew and dont rely on the game to slow down in time for you duke it out with a battle ship squadron

The simple thing to do is keep an eye on the game itself - if there's a sudden drop in game speed, or if the game has a minute stall then continues even with no drop in speed dive to periscope depth right away and use your phones.

More often than not the sound man will tell you if there are ships present - remember your phones are your first line of defense - but they only work under water

So make it a rule to dive to p'scope depth frequently to have a wee listen - its amazing what you discover

Regards
R

- or your phones guy will
