This is without doubt the most annoying part of this game for me..... I know other people have brought this up so I'm sorry if this is rehashing what other people have already said...
I'm in early 1942 and I have only been depthcharged once!!!!! Even then only 3 times before she went off elsewhere. I'm aware that when on convoy duty, destroyers were ordered to protect the convoy rather than chase off after a submarine unless it was a direct threat but I have come across a few hunter/killer groups and even they seem reluctant to fight it out. All I have to do is dive to 50+ metres turn to port/starboard and they can't find me...... If the modders can't come up with anything, I really hope UBI make this their top priority with the next patch |

I feel the same way about the destroyer AI. I meaan it does get kind of boring getting away with your attack on a convoy. The AI does a real sloppy job of trying to find so. If they do they do so , not fast enought , not aggresive anought either. Its is if these guys are all stoned or something. Oh well the royal air force doesnt do a better job.

I don`t know if it helps but maybe it will a little.
data/cfg/sim.cfg Try to change these lines: [Hydrophone] . . . Thermal Layer Signal Attenuation=3.0->2,1.0 [Sonar] . . . Thermal Layer Signal Attenuation=5.0-> 4,3,2,1.0 etc Lower numbers mean tougher escorts. |

ASDIC and sonar have been available at the beginning of the second world war not in this perfection.
With all destroyer types the type 123A is inserted from 1.1.1938 and looks magnificent. Nevertheless, the reality was in such a way: http://jproc.ca/sari/asd_et1.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonar I consider what can be done, so that the ASDIC of the destroyers 100% does not work reliably. As well as it is solved now, there cannot remain. |
