Hi, im new to the subsim forums. After the fiasco with SH5, I bought myself SH4 and the U-boat expansion.
Im wonder what mods for the SH4 and U-boat expansion you guys recommend? A nice list of the necessary mods that make the game more enjoyable would be appreciated. /T-Fork Edit: Im sorry if you are sick and tired about ppl complaining about SH5. But inital experience of SH4 makes up for my disappointment, so come on give me some input. =D Last edited by T-Fork; 03-10-10 at 05:28 PM. |

Hello T-Fork!
And welcome to the forums! The most commons are: TMO (trigger MAru Overhauled), RFB (Real Fleet Boat) and Run Silent Run Deep (campaign mod) Most people here run TMO + RSRDC or RFB + RSRDC. Install JGSME and try the mods which suit you the most. For mods info, look here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=155786 I for one, run TMO 1.9 +RSRDC...and I never get tired of repeating: TMO saved the game for me. It was it, or the game getting dust on the shelf.

Welcome to the boat mate.
![]() ![]() TMO or RFB are very good places to start. It's different than SH3 but stick with it you'll enjoy it. Magic

Or, for more U-boat action, you can use Operation Monsun, and the OMEGU mods.
This will give you a wide range of U-boats, and add the Atlantic theatre too. ![]() |

Thanks for all the replies! =)
Does those mods play well together? TMO, RFB, RSRD, operation monsun and OMEGU? Any other mods to make things look or sound better? |

Think I will try TMO + RSRDC or RFB + RSRDC while waiting for SH5 to get back into dry dock and get the worst holes patched up
![]() Never got into the pacific sub campaign but now is as a good time as any to give it another try. With TMO/RFB + RSRDC it's like a "GWX3" for SH4?

Op. Monsun, TMO and RFB are standalone mods, and can not be installed together. RSRDC is a campaign mod, and there are versions of the mod compatible with the TMO, RFB and Op. Monsun.

All supermods include some kind of enviroment mods. Personally, I dislike the transparent water in TMO, and find the RFB one the best looking. But that is my opinion.

TMO 1.9 is state of the art. The destroyers are nasty but there are threads dealing with how to avoid their radar.
If you do not use a major mod, visit Webster's thread and choose among his various mods. An indispensible mod for manual targeting is the Easy Aob mod. Also consider gutted's Solution Solver program and aaronbloods Electronic MoBo, both of which are masterpieces. MoBo has its own forum. Rockin Robbins' skipper's bag of tricks sticky consists of a compilation of attack technique videos and links that will keep you busy. |
