Hotel Bill

Last year, my wife and I were on a drive to a ski trip in Colorado. We made the "team drive" effort as i would drive for several hours and we would switch places.

We hadn't slept too well the night before because of the excitement of our trip, so we were both eventually overcome with fatigue and decided we would pull over at a hotel for a quick rest on some clean sheets.

after a nap of about 4 hours duration we woke up and went downstairs to check out.

I was handed a hotel bill for $350

I exploded into outrage. The Hotel was nice... but it was no Waldorf Astoria!

I questioned the charges and eventually was directed to the hotel manager who heard my complaint.

he explained:

"Sir, our Hotel has an olympic size pool, several hot tubs, a steam room and a physical fitness center... they are of the highest quality and made available to our guests, that is the reason your bill is rated as it is."

"But we didnt use any of those things!!!" i said

"Well they were here, and you could have used them."

The manager continued his explanation of the charges...

"This fine hotel has high speed internet, and the finest dining of any hotel in town, our restaurant carries with it a five star rating for breakfast, lunch and dinner."

Again i said "We didnt use any of those things!"

again the manager insisted "But they were here and you could have used them."

the manager continued:

"You took notice of the fact that we have a large theater didnt you? we have all of the best shows stay here on their way to Vegas... you cant see performances like these at other similar hotels."

eventually i gave up and opened my check book and wrote the man a check.

he said to me "Sir! you only made the check out for $50!"

"yes thats right..." i explained "I have charged you $300 for having sex with my wife."

"But we have done no such thing!!!" the manager shrieked.

i said

"I know... but she was here and you could have."
