* It's lazy of the local shopkeepers to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during "siesta" time — this should be banned.

I've heard that some times before.

and it really has nothing to do with beeing lazy, we have lunch in the afternoon and we take our time with that. after lunch we have like an hour break. when we re-open again we start fresh again and we do not have those dreadly last hours that we ''just want to go hoooooooooome but that last hour is crawling!....''

DAMN those wide sandy beaches and oceans full of fish. And let's not get started on the consistency of the soup. Honestly, it's enough to ruin a perfectly pleasant holiday, according to a list of recent complaints by British tourists.
Consider this "it's all your fault" rant by a woman who returned to Britain with an unexpected holiday souvenir: "My fiance and I booked a twin-bed room but we were placed in a double-bed room. We now hold you responsible for the fact that I find myself pregnant."

No this is no joke. We have tourists who do that. I'm going to the Costa Dorado in June and it is those kind of tourists I will be with..I approach with trepidation....

I think I will escape to Barcelona for the 2 weeks....

They probably wanted it to be just as at home, but added a very long way to travel to make it look more interesting...
