Default Watch Crew Crouching! New feature.

I'm on my way back to Kiel from my second patrol using GWX 3 and in the Skagerrak the watch sights a ship. I go up to check it out and notice the boys are shorter than usual, even Little Johann! A bug I thought at first but upon closer inspection I see that they are crouching. Is this new to GWX? If so, it's cool! If not, then I need to pay more attention to the lads. They were still wearing their oilskins from a recent storm, BTW. Maybe it's just for those? Anyone else notice this?

Anyway, GWX 3 kicks butt! I've put a few 2.1 one mods on her without a hitch so far. Lovin' it.

Sorry to dissappoint, they crouched in 2.1, in NYGM, and since the dawn of time.

No, its only if a enemy unit is around, so they don't get shot.

Its kinda weird when you get right up to a yacht (Sailing in a storm of Scotland) and the watch crew is still crouching as if they think they are invisible.

That's funny, in all the time I've been playing I've never seen it happen. Usually cause it's either dark or I crash dive at the sound of an escort before they hunker down.

Just did my first Kiel Canal transit since loading GWX Gold and BBW's add-ons. Wasn't looking forward to it as usual. Boy what a nice surprise.

Hard coded.....to the crew, an enemy vessel is just that, regardless of size or weaponry or otherwise.

They simply aren't able to differentiate.

They'd probably fall over with the weather we were having.

Seriously, a sailboat in the middle of a storm. Off Scotland. In 1940. Seriously, what?

this somehow reminds me of the great Douglas Adams, talking about the many uses of towels in hitchhiking:

'...you can wrap it around your head to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you - daft as a brush, but very very ravenous)'
