Need help again

Is there anyone whom has figured out the extra weapons deal and is willing to help me a bit?..I can get the 40MM twin and twin 4/50 deck guns to show up in the options list in the game for a Gato in 1941 but when I try to choose them it says they cant be used on my sub....Any ideas?

Sorry, this is going to be vague and may not be much help, but I think I had this issue with the twin 5"/25 gun. For that gun, it had to do with having both upgrade slots on the submarine available at the date and year I was trying to add the guns in, otherwise you can select the upgrade, but it won't fit. I can't remember any specifics, but have a look in the sub's upc file to see if the upgrade slots for both the fore deck gun and the stern deck gun are available at the time you are trying to fit it.

If that's no use, I'll take a look tomorrow when I'm back at my gaming PC.

In my opinion the 5/25 which already has a double set up for it to use, is a better gun. It is a 5" but the 4/50 is a 4" gun. The 25 and 50 are used for the barrel length. Since it is all set up I think you can change the dates, it isn't available until 1944. If changing the dates would work, I would go with the 5"/25mm and then either me or Nisgeis can get the other working (Nisgeis has more knowledge) I just re-read your post , you have the 5/25 working. Keep it, good gun.

@Nisgeis and Clay The 40mmTwin in the weapons (or upgradepack, forget which) is considered a "Deck Gun" so maybe it could be installed if the "Type" was changed to ??

I found it, in the weapons it is considered a "flak" but in upgradepacks it requires a "deckgun slot"

[UpgradePack 11]
ID= Upack40mmTwin
NameDisplayable= Twin 40mm AA Gun
FunctionalType= UpFTypeWeaponFlak
UpgradePackSlotType= USDeckGun
Type=NULL
UnitUpgradePackIntervalOptionCurrent= NULL, NULL, 0
UnitUpgradePackIntervalOptions1= 1944-05-08, NULL, 1000
IDLinkUpgradePackElements= 40mmTwinUS

Are you sure you don't want a 16" Triple turret?:rotfl:.

Let's see...fleet boat, 1200 tons...triple 16" turrets, 2000 tons each...something seems wrong here...

I can imagine it. Everyone get inside and prepare for a roalover, There fireing the big guns. Those guns would probaly flip that sub over and rip there self off.:rotfl:

Sorry Clay, Didn't mean to hijack the thread with the 16" turret, but we need a little fun sometimes. The Gato sometimes I have trouble with, it has four conning towers and some stuff can be added now some needs to be added later. Well, really if you change enough files you can do anything, now.
I like the boat it just has a lot of different files to work with. I don't usually stay on the surface to shoot planes but I usually prefer a twin 20, I don't know if it's me but it seems to fire and reload faster. Of cource the shell isn't as big, but most of the time I can't hit anything anyway.:rotfl:.
But like I said above the twin 40 is listed as a deckgun but we will check it out and see what we can do for you.

How have you been feeling?

Not doing too bad, good days bad days. Had to finish up a wiring job now that they were ready for me. Little more to do there. Slow going though, old house.

You take care.
