Default [REL] Takao's Japanese Name and Rank Mod

My Japanese Ranks and Names mod for use with Keltos01 Japanese Submarine models.

The Japanese names are in the Japanese style (Family Name, Given Name).
I used the names of all Japanese sub commanders, so you get 300+ first and last names. That is a lot of combinations to play with.

Now your crewmen have actual Japanese rank titles and Japanese Rank insignia in the Crew management screen.

A rank comparison between the US, German, and Japanese ranks is located in the Mod's Readme file.

KNOWN ISSUES
1. Usually, the Japanese Name will have a middle initial.
2. Infrequently, the Japanese crewmember will have two Family Names.
FIXES - Not that I could find. It seems to be hard-coded and not open to modification.

AESTHETIC ISSUES and HISTORICAL ISSUES:
1. I had to fudge on some ranks due to differences between Kriegsmarine and Japanese ranks. Hence, the veteran NCOs, Jun-Sho(AFAIK, not used during WW2), and Kaigun Gensui(fictious rank)
2. With the Rank Structure set up for the German's. The player is stuck, for the moment, of having his officers be Midshipmen, Warrant Officers, and Ensigns. I am working on changing the Officer structure so that the player will have either (Warrant Officers, Ensigns, and Lt. jgs) or (Ensigns, LT. jgs, and LTs).

AS AN ADDED BONUS!
I have uploaded 11 Japanese military songs, for use with the gramophone, to take you back to World War II era Japan. My personal favorite is the a capella version of "Gunkan March"

The files are:
Takaos_Japanese_Name_and-0.rar
Japanese_Military_Songs.rar

P.S. Don't forget to download Keltos01's Japanese submarine Mods here.

Thanks gentlemen, you compliments mean a lot.

I am now working on getting the Japanese medals in the game.

German Medals in the Crew Managment screen.
1. U-boat War Badge
2. U-Boat Front Clasp
3. Iron Cross 2nd
4. Iron Cross 1st
5. German Cross
6. Knight's Cross

My Japanese equivalents
1. Good Conduct Chevron or Special Training insignia
2. Excellent Conduct Chevron or Advanced Special Training insignia
3. Japanese Veteran's Badge
4. Order of the Sacred Treasure
5. Order of the Rising Sun
6. Order of the Golden Kite

7. Possibility of adding the Japanese Wound Badge.

So far, I have the Japanese Veteran's Badge in and working, I just need to change the title from Iron Cross 2nd.

The Japanese Wound Badge is also in, but does not appear to work. I don't know if it has been dropped from the game. Seeing as I had my sub damaged and crew injured, but could not award the German Wound Badge, nor does it appear in the crew managment screen.

Also,
Tentative NEW Intro_logo_elem.dds

I am looking for feed back on the Medals list. The Japanese Navy was not known for handing out medals, unlike the German and American navies. And it was hard to come up with a plausible list.

While, I like the Japanese Submariner Qualification Badge. I am having trouble justifying its inclusion. It was awarded upon completion of Japan's submarine school. So every one had it. Unlike the German U-boat War Badge, which had to be earned(completing 2-3 war patrols). Also, during 1940 Japanese submariners were no longer allowed to wear the badge, so that enemy spies could not tell their branch of service. Finally, In 1942, the medal was abolished.

Nothing new has been uploaded......YET!

Why would you get Comsubpac in a German Career? I don't know if they have a separate file for German or not, I didn't look but for mine the Comsubpac was 4193 in the menu.txt.
