Welcome aboard, bonniebanks.
This may help: 1. Make sure you have the JSGME file in the root directory of SH4. 2. Run it once, then immediately shut it down. This creates a folder called "Mods" also in the SH4 root directory. 3. Unzip your mods into the new "Mods" folder you've made by running JSGME. Ensure that the mods are in the correct format: filename/data/sub-folders. The second folder in must be "data" 4. Run JSGME and use the arrow to enable your mods by moving them from the left hand window to the right hand one. Play the game. Hope that helps. |

also to avoid problems most new people have with mods you have to be sure your mod folders are correct. by this i mean they must be named correctly for the mod to install and work.
jsgme swaps out files that are named alike, if they are not named correctly it doesnt know where to put it. if you look at your mod folders after you unzip them, some of them have an inside folder which is the actual mod you are supposed to use instead of the first one. any mod should look like this: mod folder / Data / and so on, sometimes it will look like mod folder / another mod folder / Data / and so on, so you would need to take the second mod folder and that is what you put into the jsgme mods folder. many mods come in a folder that has the actual mod folder inside of it along with "read me" files explaining what the mod does and sometimes it has this "read me" contained inside of a "support" folder so it puts the mods "read me" in with the games support documents. |

Yes. There has to be a copy of JSGME in the main folder of the game to be modded. You'll know this has happened when you open the SH4 folder and see another folder labelled 'MODS' (and it will be in caps - I didn't do that for effect). At that point you load the mod you want to use into the MODS folder. If it's JSGME ready the mod will be in a folder that gives it a name ('Depth Charge Shake v1.03', for instance), and inside that will be a 'Data' folder with the path that puts it in its proper place.
Also WELCOME ABOARD! ![]()

JSGME has to be in the game.
Copy it to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\ That's the SH4 root directory. You'll see the folder labelled "data" in the same place. JSGME will appear as an icon ( it looks like a gear wheel ) in the root directory Do not copy it into the data folder. Then double left click on the JSGME icon in the root directory This will open up JSGME. Don't do anything at this stage except close it down, so that you're back to the main root directory of SH4. You'll see that as well as your "data" folder, the JSGME icon and a load of other stuff, there'll be a new folder like Sailor Steve says labelled in capitals MODS. That's the folder into which you copy, or unzip your SH4 mods. Right click on the JSGME icon and from the small menu which appears select "Send To..." then click on Desktop. This will put a shortcut to the JSGME you've installed in SH4 on to your desktop. Like Steve says. JSGME compatible mods have a set file structure - something like Music Mod/data/Sound/Gramophone To work in JSGME a mod must have that structure with a data folder immediately inside the folder which is the mod's name. To enable mods, double left click on the JSGME icon ( either in the SH4 root directory, or on your desktop ) This will open JSGME. At the start you'll see a list of your mods in the left-hand pane, or window. To enable them: highlight the mod by left clicking on it in the left-hand pane click the arrowhead in the centre ( between the two panes ) which points to the right You should see the mod move to the right-hand pane. Do this for all the mods in the left hand pane you want to enable. Close down the JSGME window and play the game with your mods installed. |

Maybe there is a little obstruction in the downloaded file itself. Very often the unzipped files create the following folder structure (Example is the trigger maru mod):
Harddisk:\TriggerMaru_Overhaul_152\REL_TriggerMaru _Overhaul_152\Data. When you copy this in your Mod Folder in SH4 you can see the Mod in JSGME and you can activate the Mod....but it wont work. Because JSGME needs the structure: SH4 folder/Mods/Your_Mod/data. Nothing else works. So look in the unzipped downloaded file and check the structure. When you not sure what to do go in the folder Harddisk:/SH4 folder/Mods/ and create a new folder. Rename it like you want and copy from your downloaded unzipped Mod only the folder DATA in your new created folder. Activate this folder with JSGME and i i am sure you'll be happy with this.. ![]() ![]() |
