Default CO2 bug

Ok gents, CO2 was never a factor for game play before the add-on. Now CO2 seems to be working. But it is working a bit too good. In other words, the boat never vents. The little icon is cool. Click on it and the boat will surface but the CO2 never gets vented. Anyone here know what the root cause of this is? Repairable?

Hardcoded stock issue i think. (honestly id rather it be a mod problem, at least then its fixable)

I'm more interested in finding what makes the problem occur, and to find a workaround. My first shot in the dark GUESS, is loading a game that was saved while submerged?
That is a THEORY, that i hope can be proved true, because then we have a workaround. "(Dont save while submerged)".

If that isn't the case, then we have problem, a big one.

I had this bug too... I "think" I fixed it by saving surfaced with a different filename, then reloading the new save....
But in case that doesn't work I might have saved it submerged with a new name, then reloading and surfacing...
I'm sorry I can't remember exactly what I did, but it did 'fix' it and I was able to continue on my career (UBM).

I've also had this bug several times. I just saved a few times while surfaced, and eventually it loads with the CO2 status as vented.
I've also have gotten this bug while surfaced with rough seas (modified wave amplitude, etc...)

When my CO2 gets to a certain level , the little icon at the top right of the screen will appear with CO2 on it . I click on this and it says "surfacing the boat" . Now my CO2 will expel .

It is strange. I'm submerged, my little icon pops up. It shows 10% co2. Ok, no problem. I kept motoring along and surfaced later. No vent. I TC'd but no vent. The icon still showed 10% but the meter on the orders bar kept climbing. I saved at that point but have not restarted yet.

Yes, all it did was "surface the boat" but I was already surfaced. I went to PD and then hit the icon again. "surface the boat". Up I went. No vent and no change.

I am just trying to figure it out . Ok , so you pressed the CO2 when already surfaced . Maybe this stuffs something up , i dunno . Maybe try going to PD again and just surface via the menu buttons down the bottom panel . I had to travel for a while for it to vent BTW . It didnt happen straight away .

:hmm:
I have no Add-On ...
But in SH4 ver. 1.4 ÑÎ2 dial and ventilation work (after adjustment of dial values) ...

I attempted that as well. I TC on the surface all night, the CO2 climbed. Perhaps when the CO2 icon pops up and you finally decide to surface, the icon needs to be clicked so you surface thus venting the boat? Not sure and I will attempt that as well. I'm at about 44% CO2 level now but my men are not turning green so that is a good thing.

Who in the hell still saves while submerged, after years and thousands of posts regarding the pitfalls of doing so in SH3 AND SH4?

Other than Zantham who MIGHT have saved submerged, no one else here who is experiencing this saved submerged. Read the posts Galanit. BTW, I have saved submerged plenty of times in SH4 without any ill effects.

As have I, many many times, inside of convoys, taskforces, wherever. I've not had the CO2 bug since, and I've logged a lot of hours on this game. The one time it happened to me was pretty much right when I got it, I think I had alt-tabbed out and back in. I just cannot remember how i fixed it... not that it was a real fix, it just vented the CO2 after and didn't reoccur again.

So have I, but the add-on really made me think again. Besides the CO2 bug I also came across the pressurized air bug(you start losing pressurized air rapidly the moment your boat goes under the surface) on my very first U-Boat Add-on session. That too seems to be related to saving. Didn't even have to load the save, just saving itself was enough. On the next session I didn't save, and didn't see neither of the two bugs.
