Originally bought SOF as a xmas gift for one of the nephews...came to this site to see how it was going and...well...

...decided to keep it.


Nice going modders...as always.

As with any new sim, like a noob, been opening wrong hatches/doors/pressing wrong buttons and gadgets. Scuffed shins on the combing and banged kopf on things in the conning tower.

Just now getting the hang of things. I guess you could compare it to having two cars (like in the old days) SH3 is the Rolls, SOF is the Cooper. Great fun.

Yep, that's it.
I can't understand folk who say "SH3/4 is better therefore SOF sucks".

SOF is different, albeit leaky in places, but still there's plenty of fun and interest value.

You are SO right, Horsa. I'm pleasantly pleased that SOF does have that (upgraded) AOTD feel about it. Very comfortable and somehow familiar.

If we give the modders a chance, this one's a winner. imho.

Yes, for sure, SOF is not the ultimate uboat sim.

It's the ONLY ww1 uboat sim.
It's the best ww1 uboat sim.
