Default help with skinning

Hello,

I've tried to do some skins but I'am doing something wrong... aparently.

I copied the file named "NSS_Uboat7c_hull.tga on my desktop
(from: C:\Archivos de programa\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Textures\TLo wRes\tex)
I edited it and saved it on the same folder, with the same name, overwriting the old skin.
But when i play the game (both with the VIIC and VIIB), I still see the old skin.

please help me (if I make it work i might post some screens of my pathetic work )

Ken.

Not knowing if you are running stock or GWX 1.03 hard to tell, my advice is to ask bigboywooly or Seth so you can down load the templates and use them.

Good Luck.

You must replace old file with new file in: C:\Archivos de programa\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Textures\Tno rmal\tex directory.
Any effect?

Yes!

In your game options, the setting for graphics should be set to high, and putting the tga there will make your game pick it up!

i have the JSGME, but still you need to create a dummy directory to place the .tga's or whatever you intend on modding.

Also, I actually tried to put my skin via the JSGME, but didn't work.

@Carotio

QSL (if it is spelt that way... and if it is also an international "thingy")
if it isn't:
Roger that.

EDIT:
I placed the .tga on the TNormal directory (using JSGME) but (*sigh* still) i see the old skin (I use the naval academy navigation mission for testing

I put the grafics on "high" by leaving the "X" or by removeing it? (in the options > video part of the game menu)
common cense says "X means allowed" but trying on missions says otherwise :S

IT WORKED! IT'S ALIVE!!!!! I've created life... er... I mean a skin!

I know it's not great (v1.51)

If its not too much to ask, I'd like some help with the little grey (light grey actually) part of the stern and the same part of the deck, as i'd like to add some cammo to those spots too. also, the "wings" in the deck, where the 88 is mounted remain unchanged, where are those 3 spots on the .TGAs?

A little feedback could come in handy

in that picture, if you look at the stern you can see that there is a cammo stripe (dark grey) and then the rest of the stern is light grey, that part is one of the spots i'd like to edit but i didnt find it on the .TGA... The other point is right besides it, the metal plate on the deck.

and the 3rd spot...

thanks for the replies and i'm really glad you like it
