well to my understanding there was an attempt at the aft living quaters room. Which I believe was modeled however never textured, nor implemented in the game. And Diving Duck has a mod with adding the attack periscope housing in the zentrale. But new has been shady on the release date. I hope that it comes out with the gwx 2.0, but im not getting my hopes up.

The book :Anatomy of the ship VIIC sub should have the complete plans of the VIIC.
Heres the virtual tour of U-505 http://www.msichicago.org/exhibit/U5...our/index.html Last edited by miner1436; 11-25-07 at 12:31 AM. |

from personally being on the u-505 on numerous ocassions........well to put it lightly,......in order to create an accurate interior of a type IXC it would require re-doing the entire command room. its flippen rediculous how inaccurate the game portrays the IX interior. The real interior is so cramped you have to stand up slouched. There is hardly any room to move around in the command room AND I MEAN HARDLY. It's like "oops I dropped the soap" close quaters, and there isnt even enough room to pick it back up without pushing somone out of the way. It would also require shrinking the whole zentrale to a smaller scale while keeping the officers/sailors the original size, to create the proper claustrophobic feeling. There is not one square inch of empty space on the wall. It is a wonderland of gauges, tubes, wires, pipes, nozzles, valves, etc. I suggest we stick with the stuff we already have. It seems the longer this game is out the more accurate and real people want it to be. Which is admirable. However it requires an immense amount of work and quite frankly I don't think it can be done. But then again........that has been said before. Several times.
I cant comment on the interior of the VII being as though I've never been on one. Oh! and the stove in the type II is a stove.....not a hotplate. The VII's had hotplates. |

Look on the bright side.
Considering that the uboat interior of a Typ VII already is roughly 60 MB in size, including the complete interior of a boat with diesels, torpedo rooms, living quarters etc. would very likely add 200 MB or more of data that has to be loaded each time you start a mission. With loading times what they are at the moment, and the high memory demand of SH3 and GWX, I think it's best to do without the eye candy of a complete interior and better add some stuff that not only adds immersion but can be used (or sunk). Just my 2 cents ![]() |

Excellent point!!! Thats probably why ubisoft didnt do the rest of the interiors orignally. Either that or they were just lazy...:hmm: |

Or maybe they thought that a lot of useless eye-candy that didn't serve a real purpose wasn't worth the time, money and effort involved.
