Default ROW & RFB

Okay, so if I have the newest version of the excellent ROW mod installed in SH4, does anyone know if RFB v1.31 is compatible with ROW?

As it stands right now, you'll lose the RFB changes to the subs and order bar if you install ROW over RFB. If you install RFB over ROW, you'll lose the sub changes Leo made and his order bar.

That's the major area where the 2 conflict and is why you'll see a version of RFB for ROW and one for stock in the future. I have ROW installed over RFB as a test and have had no problems with gameplay

Since RFB is mainly about realism and ROW about environment, the only interference between the two is minor as mentioned above. I've been running ROW on top of RFB and am very happy.

I have been doing so as well, and so far everything seems to be going fine - the tweak to retain the RFB order bar buttons while using ROW and Jaketoox' shiny/metal HUD is real simple one to make, so you don't even have to lose that if you don't want.

Okay...one other question now...which one of the individual ROW mods need to be installed after RFB? Reason I ask, is that I already have all the ROW mods installed via JGSME and have not yet installed RFB. So, if I were to uninstall a ROW mod or mods, so that RFB can be installed first, which one or ones do I need to do that for?

I'm useing this combo as well with no probs. I installed RFB first, then ROW over the top. You might want to disable all the ROW files, install RFB, then activate the ROW files once again. I believe the second to last page in the ROW thread shows a screenie of JSGME with an activation sequence that is problem free. The example uses the TM Mod, but substituting with RFB would most likely be the same scenario.

Once again, install RFB first, then the ROW mod over the top. Let ROW overwrite whatever it wants, and you should be good to go. Like I said, this is what I have, and no probs at all.

What about the Sub Reflections & Roll Pitch mod? It is asking me if I want to overwrite the respective .sim files for all the sub classes. Will this affect RFB's mod of the sub performance?

Yes, that's why i said you'll lose the RFB changes in the earlier post.

I'm working on the sim files ad other changes this week to come up with A ROW compatible release. There's a lot more to making a ROW compatible RFB that will install over ROW than just changing the sim files. This is because there are a number of files in RFB that will overwrite required ROW files if installed last (like the scene.dat file).

I mentiond the idea of a split tree for RFB to Leo n the ROW thread a while back. ROW is becoming the driving MOD and there needs to be a stock and ROW release of RFB.

It's easier to make split versions of RFB than for Leo and crew to split ROW. I'd prefer to leave Leo, Kriller and his crew alone to work on their changes and have RFB accomodate their hard work. I respect their work greatly and don't want to have RFB be a distraction for them.

Once the repairs are done things will be easier to handle but not until seeing right now all of the work is on my end only.

Default Rfb & Row & Nsm

This may not be the right place for this, but has anyone applied NSM to the combination of RFB and ROW. If so, how does it work and have you noted any particular issues. Thanks in advance.

Respectfully Submitted

RFB first then NSM then ROW in that order for the time being until SWDW get's everything set up for his rework of the RFB mod.

Hope this help's you out.
