Jagged Wake under ship’s Hulls

Greetings! This is my first post so I'll try to brief. Not really sure if this is the right place for this post, but since you guys are are Mod Experts maybe you can answer this question. Or perhaps point me in the right Direction.

Has anyone experience the follow problem with wakes not displaying correctly or showing very jaggy? Or is this normal? It almost looks like the merchant ship is sailing though breaking white ice at times. However, when I use the event camera to view my own U-Boat there is no wake distortion at all.

I have tried to run the sh3 on different resolutions and it still occurs. This does not appear to be a temperature issue because this problem will happen on start with the video card running cool.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Currently I’m running the following: Sh3 +1.04 patch, GWX 1.3, Authentic Uboat Off Faces, GWX - Lite Harbor Traffic, GWX - Main Movie - "Das Boot", Gwx - Reduced Positive Buoyancy, RB_Sh4_Effects for SH3 3_2_21 and GWX - Lowered DF Antennas
System Spec’s:
Windows XP sp2
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs)
2 Gig of Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra (latest drivers)
Game resolution: Default (1024x768)

I am having the same problem with an 8800GTS (640 MB). Playing at high levels of AA and AF seems to help a little bit but it is still not totally resolved.

It looks like a reflection vs. particles problem, never suffered it though.

The jagged border you see is probably the distorted reflection/refraction of the ship, there are numerous ships (even stock ones) that have reflection problems, but I never seen them popping thru the shipwake.

Thanks for the replies!

I have also tried the following: Fresh reinstall of the sh3 plus mod, Removed nvidia graphic drivers and reinstalled them, and updated pretty much every driver on the machine. But I'm still seeing the problem.

I played around with the graphic setting but they didn't make any noticeable change. So in the end I left all the defaults for the nvidia graphics control panel. AA and the like are all set to default application controlled.

I did notice that problem happends more frequently when it's a clear sunny day with hardly any wind. I do not see it ever when it's storming. Also, I seem to have a problem with the moon and sun, if I look for a time they also have spurts of distortion.

However, I have not tried reinstalling DirectX, I will give this a go

It just annoys me that I spent a ton of cash for the 8800 Ultra and have display problem. I love this game and the addition of all these mod has made it outstanding, I may just have to ignore the problem.
