Well nothing really new with this, the game already lets you upgrade to double 5.25's late in the war, this mod will enable double 3.5's & 4.5's for all boats with the current dates those weapons are available.
There are however a few limitations...unlike the AA guns that have 2 seperate cameras with 2 command buttons and a cycle command to go between them the deck gun only has 1 camera, 1 command button and no cycle function...I find this odd since if I mount 1 gun aft and hit the UI command button it'll take me to the aft gun, if I have both fore and aft guns and hit the command button it'll default and take me to the fore gun with no way to cycle to the aft gun...odd because the dev's took the time to ensure that if 2 guns were mounted that each has a designation in the subs upc file so that it can be damaged or destroyed (M01 - M02) but they diden't take the time to make it so we can cycle between them for use. The good news is that the AI will man and fire both guns, this brings me to limitation #2...the AI won't select two different targets, both guns will fire on the same target. The cool part is after ordering the AI to fire at a target the player can hop on the foreward gun and fire on a different target, thus 2 different targets at the same time. This is all very much a WIP and Im mostly doing it just for the fun of it, if anyone has any suggestions that can help or make it better let me know. This is of course not exactly realistic, its a - just for fun, what if type of mod. If no one's interested in this I'll drop it. ![]() |

Ditto. Especialy if you can work out the cycle between the two guns and seprate targets.

If you look at it, its also possible to switch out to bofors and others
on the double d/g interestingly when I was looking it over I am of the suspician that the double D/G's are D/P's if so then mounting a dg on one slot and a bofors on the other using "US_adv_deckgun" type mount then you would be under that circumstance able to order med and heavy guns to engage a surface target simultaneous and air too assuming it bears out in testing. due to realworld issues this week I havent managed to get back in to test it yet though. so d/p properties are as of yet unconfirmed but what makes me suspect it is the ammo. if I get to testing it first ill let you know how it goes if you do could you post it here. thanks MM |

Hi Mush, I was hoping you would you would put in your 2 cents
![]() I know you did a lot of this kind of work in SH3. Im rather busy this weekend so I wont have much time for this but I will post any progress here. Just another note to those interested in this...this is not intended to be a "super mod" or "cheat" just an extra weapon for your boat. |

d/g's to target seperate targets unless using the manual method described in shads first post. ie. designate a target for the ai gunners and then man to fwd gun personally and engage a different target. MM |
