Japanese Subs

I just noticed there are files under C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Submarine\ for japanese subs, namely the Sen Toku and a midget sub "NS Ko Hyoteki". Any chance these are pilotable?

Has anyone come accross the AI subs ?

I havent seen any (doesent mean they arent there).

"AI" is probably going to far. I think they are just objects that can be placed in the world. You'll notice the midget sub's prop isn't animated. I've heard some of these can be found in Japanese ports.

Aye - came across one in the wild (the huge one with the aircraft) when on a photo recon mission outside the port of Osaka. I'd have sunk that abomination too had I any torps left. Haven't actually seen one in combat or out of port though.

spotted one off honshu island, big b**t**d with aircraft. sighted a convoy to the east and decided to give the sub a miss
