Default Problem with SJ Radar on Gato class

I was just took command of USS Drum (Gato class) in September 42 and wanted to install SJ radar, but it says that I can't install it on my sub. I had no problem to install it on my previous sub, the USS Searaven (Sargo class).:hmm:
By accepting USS Drum I was transfered to Pearl Harbor and I still get the same patroll area I just to get when I was still based in Freemantle. Can you imagine how annoying it's going to get when I have to travel form Pearl to the Java sea?

I had the same thing happen to me. I was based in Freemantle with the Porpoise in 42. I got the option for a new bat and took it and got the Drum out of Pearl. I couldn't install SJ-1 radar like I had on the Porpoise, but I could install the SJ radar. I am also using the flavored to taste mod.

I can't install the basic SJ radar, nor can I install SJ-1 radar.

I'm currently having the exact same problems, with the new boats radar as well as patrol area always being the same

I've found a solution for my problem, it worked now but I don't know if it always works.
Here's what I've done:

I took my sub out of Pearl, drove to Midway and refueled. After refueling I drove back to Pearl and suddenly I could install SJ radar and my next mission was to patrol the waters around Honshu. They even gave me medals for my crew although I did not sink any ships.

I'd gladly take Redfin, 'cause Drum is sooooo mainstream.:p:rotfl:

Are you guys sure the new boat doesn't come with the SJ radar pre-installed?

Don't see the problem.....after all, SD will give you bearing and range if you've got map contacts 'ON', and out to 20nm!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Nope, the slot for the radar slot says that it's empty. We're not that stupid.
