Default Gentleman, i need your support...

Subsim mates, i need your support by voting on the Silent Hunter forum concerning the Complete Limited Edition of Silent Hunter 4 (the one that the Ubi UK online shop is offering).

This morning, i spoke with an agent in the US sales departement at Ubisoft wich was by the way, very understandable and, concerning the availability of the UK Complete Limited Edition. We all know that for a Candian like me, i would cost me around 200$ to get that Edition. That's unfair!!!! He told me that it was a question of money because Silent Hunter is not as popular in North America and others country than in the UK. We knew that but, a Silent Hunter player is a Silent Hunter player...no matter his nationality!!!

So, he advise me to start a poll on the forum to ask the Silent Hunter community who would have bought the Complete Limited Edition.

I`m starting one and i hope that you guys will help me by supporting the poll.

Here's the link: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...3/m/3471098635

Thank you and have a great day.

I can't help you because the German ubistore offers the DE and I already succesfully ordered one. But nonetheless I wish you good luck because everybody should have the opportunity to get a DE no matter where he/she lives!

Everybody does have the opportunity to get the Deluxe Edition. Ubi will quite happily sell and ship it outside of Europe. The frustration lies with the extra cost assosiated in ordering the DE in this manner, especially so in light of Ubi's worldwide offices.

Sure everybody does have the opportunity to get a DE, but to what costs? First of all people from North America or Australia have to pay an insane price and they take away the DE's from people who live in the EU. That's not fair! Why not offer the same product everywhere?!

The mistake here is to see Ubisoft as one entity. When a company of this nature has offices in different Countries, each Country becomes a territory in its own right for the individual Sales/Marketing Directors.

The Director of Sales and Marketing in the US could care less about what his/her counterpart in the UK is doing or visa versa. Success is decided based on number of sales in his or her own territory.

If someone in one market thinks that offering a metal box and a load of junk will help push the initial sales of the game then they'll do it....screw the other markets. Let them come up with their own strategy.

That's how you get to this fiasco with the different versions of the game, and that's why, with the greatest of respect to the poster, the pole is not really relevant.

Good luck to you in your quest.

You should still count yourself lucky as generally it's us Brits who get the sh!tty end of the stick by having to pay far more than anyone else.

I wish you well with your pole, NorthStorm, but I don't think you'll achieve anything with it. This was a marketing fiasco by a company with too many offices in too many Countries.

The best course of action for Ubisoft going forward, is for them always just to produce the basic game with an excellent user manual, map and quick reference chart.

But don't forget what a wise man once said:"Trying is the first step towards failure." (Homer Simpson)

Just kidding! I hope you'll win that fight!

I voted. I don't quite get why I can't order it off the Ubi store and pay extra for shipping? Isn't the NA version identical to the UK version? Because I live in NA they wont even allow me to order it. I've never seen anything like this.

Of course if in fact the collector's edition is essentially a different version from the NA version, then that I understand. But if not, then there is no excuse.

That's pretty much good advice for ANY game company.
