Default Range for the IXD2

Just a quick question, mates: The IXD2 has a stated range of 23700 km (GWX), but at 9 knots the navigator tells me that i can go app. 52000 km. I know that 9 knots is the most economical speed (this has been discussed in a bunch of threads), but what speed was used to get the 23700 km range? Was there a "standard" speed used by kriegsmarine to give the uboats their estimated range?

you mean in the real world ?
different for each ship class
not standard speed
measure was of most economical
speed settings must be wrong
because your navigator is saying
what id expect to hear if you
were making 4 kts on the surface.

I know, it sounds weird... But im on my way from Bordeaux to the US east cost, and he's answers range between 50000 to 52000 km....(Its possible that Bernard is at the chart table...) Anyway, At what speed did the IXD2 have a max range of 23700 km? :hmm:

Edit: Now im 327 km NW of the spanish coast, and he tells me that i can go 55000 km....He must be drinking..

Would you get that range if you set 12knts?

I know the set range for the IXD2 can be a little funky

Thanx mates!! Appreciated! Is there a reason why they didnt set the maximum range at a given speed, IE max range at max speed.. like a speed/range chart?
