Default Why no water droplets effect on periscope lens ?

Why no water droplets effect on periscope lens ? ( am running the Grey Wolves Mod.)

I would like to see real looking water droplets trickling off the lens like you see on the windshield of a car in the rain or like you do playing Colin McRae Rally 04 on xbox. ( it the best raindrops effect I have seen so far in gaming & is much better than GTR2 which is crappy / unrealistic considering it is a more modern game.)

Did the submarine’s lens have technology to stop water droplets from hanging on there ?

This technology does exist – click link below – but did it exist then ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Cuba

"They made use of innovative filming techniques; including coating a watertight camera's lens with a special submarine periscope cleaner, so the camera could be submerged and lifted out of the water without any drops on the lens or film."

Hi mate, and welcome to subsim! Good question there, mate! I'll move this to the Mods section, so maybe the modders can look into this!

This would be cool, I bet they could just edit the lens. I could try with GIMP with Water Drop plug-in.

Yes, as far as I remember from a book, they had it and used it from the very start of the war. The Zeiss was the best (or at least one of the best) optics producer in the world and if that technology existed, Zeiss knew it for sure. So there should be no drops on the scope's glass.

Unfortunately I don't remember, in which book I read about it. :/

I remember in AOD the water used to sheet off the lens when you raised it above the waves. Cool!

I don't remember anything like that in AOD, and yes, SHIII did it from the start.

There was a mod for SHII that left water droplets on the UZO and binoculars, but it didn't run off-it was just there all the time. Still looked pretty cool.
