Default Neg renown still shows up positive at end of career ?

Hm, strange engine SH3...

replaced values for all Axis ships to negative renown.
Still, when torpedoeing a nice fat Axis BB lying at anchor in Kiel, got a tremendous 150000 + renown for it ?

anyone know why ?

:hmm:

here are the values I used:

thx

PS (sorry BBW, couldn't resist )

Vague math memories from 40 years ago: Doesn't a negative number added to another negative number equal a positive number?

ie: -reknown + -1(from basic.cfg -1 for sinking axis)=+reknown

Or the other value "wrong ship sunk=-5000"

Two wrongs don't make a right, adding 2 negative numbers don't make a positive. Multiplying them do.

As for your problem, let me look into it, I think it happened to me once before.

EDIT: All I can think of is there is a multiplier somewhere there that makes it negative. You may not want to have the Sloops etc. as zero, as if there is a multiplier, it could zero your renown.

Since the axis is defined in the defside.cfg file, changeing to a negative value
would GIVE you renown wouldn't it?
Try increaseing renown to get a bigger slap on the wrist!

OOOH! I got a new look!
Least it ain't the funky white cap!
Now I got to go get a copy of .......

basic.cfg or one of the other cfg files has a multiplyer for reknown. Allies is 1,axis is -10 and neutral is -1 or something to that, can't really remember. So,if you shoot a hospital ship for example,by the earlier figure,it would be 10000 * -1 = -10000 reknown. However, with your new values, -5500 * -1 = 5500 reknown.
