Nothing to do with SH3Cmdr. It uses whatever face icons it finds in SH3 plus follows SH3's indexing rules. So...any variations are most likely caused by:

a) applying a mod that modifies the officer face icons
b) editing the crew config file incorrectly. This is the usual cause of such problems - even in GWX - because not everyone understands the connection between various variables in the crew config files (for example, if your officer icon has a hat, the 3D image should have a hat and if your officer icon is dressed in beige, then your 3D uniform should be beige - these connections are usually broken the minute someone edits the default crew config files).

b) is the likely cause of both your problems (if I understand your second statement correctly). Perhaps set an officer face icon through SH3Cmdr to see if that corrects the indexing in game (it might, but it might not either depending on what other values have been changed for the crewman in the crew config files).
Hallo JScones.

I'll try to clarify what i posted yesterday cause i haven't applied any mod that alters the officers' icon faces nor do i have changed the config. files.
Before starting my previous mission i decided to enlist a fifth officer. Before doing so i dismissed one of them and then enlisted another. After exiting the game i noticed that in the Crew Management screen of SH3Cmdr the icon of one my officers was missing. This means that clicking on his name his status was shown but the icon window displayed... no icon. I am still referring to the Crew Management screen of SH3Cmdr. This is the first odditity.

The second has to do with what i see when playing GWX. So, if i place officers' icon "A" to the WEs' post for example then the officer "A" is displayed with officers' "B" body and the other way round. This will happen for these two specific officers only.

I hope i haven't confused you.
Sorry for my English.

Online at http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/sof...cts/SH3CUG.pdf

Or by clicking the "?" image on the bottom left of the SH3Cmdr main screen.

Remember, GWX makes changes to the crew config files too; my earlier comment was not to suggest that *you* changed the crew config files, but that *someone* changed the crew config files and it appears that they were not aware of SH3's intrinsic indexing. Only a very keen eye such as yours and mine (observed when I was adding the feature to SH3Cmdr) would pick up the discrepency. In fact, IIRC even the crew config files I shipped with SH3Cmdr prior to R2.6 were not perfect. I've never bothered to check/compare GWX's though.

As you state that you have not installed any officer face mod, then as I posted above, b) looks like your problem. Try the solution I suggested to see if it works; it's possible that SH3Cmdr *may* be able to fix the problem, which, ironically, is not caused by SH3Cmdr at all. But as I said, don't hold your breath because other settings may have been changed in the crew config files that still conspire against an easy fix.

So, failing that, you can always edit the crew config files yourself to return the indexing and ensure that your 2D models match your 3D models correctly.

Whether this fixes your second problem, I don't know - it may be something else altogether.

Hallo again.

I have another two or three questions to ask so i'll try to do this quickly.
I started patrol 8 of my career via SH3Cmdr and the "career is over" window poped up. That's fine. Didn't change any settings and started a new career with a new commander. Despite the fact that i had checked the "start patrols at sea" and "days spent to base: 33" i start with my uboat docked at port and only 5 days after the end of my last patrol. Should this have happened?
Next, i regret starting a new career so i delete it and "return to active duty". While on patrol i press the "esc" button and the game prompts me to either continue mission or abandon career rather than return to base. I then save the game, exit and check my status at the SH3Cmdr. It now says "lost at sea during patrol 8".:hmm:

I am trying to explain all these but still nothing.
Once again any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You need to raise the starting docked issue with BBW - he tested the function with GWX and confirmed it as working. I have used it with GWX and can also confirm it as working, notwithstanding a number of SH3 limitations that are outlined in the SH3Cmdr User Guide. He'll need more info than what you have provided here though - like base, date, flotilla etc etc...

Dunno - you tell me. My crystal ball isn't working right now. Seriously, you do realise that the days in base value is not used when you start the first patrol of a new career? This is standard SH3 behaviour and something you would have noticed well before using SH3Cmdr (I mean, if you start a new career in Sep 1939, the first patrol starts on 1 Sep 1939 - notwithstanding any days added in upgrades - not 33 or whatever days later). Pls don't get confused - a new career is totally unrelated to a previous career; the best you can hope for is to start on the 1st day of the following month.

My guess is that you abandoned your career. PLEASE remember that SH3Cmdr simply reads the data from SH3 files...if the SH3 data files say that you are dead, SH3Cmdr will report that you are dead. It doesn't make things up.

Ok, i understand. Sorry to bother with such questions. I just got confused for a moment.

Now, if i load the "in base before patrol 8" save, exit the game and start it again via SH3Cmdr ,will the "career is over" window pop up again?

The best thing for you to do is to load the save game and complete the patrol. You'll then be safely in dock with no possibility of being dead. *Then* go into SH3Cmdr and check your status, which should correctly reflect you as being in base before patrol 9.

When you start patrol 9 through SH3Cmdr, you may well be retired again if you have the "Simulate a realistic career length" option selected. This is explained in the SH3Cmdr User Guide.
