Alienware Area 51 7500
EVGA NFORCE 680I SLI motherboard
Intel Quad Core Extreme QX6700 processor
(overclocked to 3.2GHZ & liquid cooled)
4 GB DDR2 Low Latency memory
Seagate 500GB RAID 0 Hard drive
(2)EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GTX 768mb PCI-E

Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor at stock speeds.
2 gigs of PC3200 DDR ram, dual channel
eVGA 6800 GS AGP softmodded into a 6800 Ultra
Audigy 2 sound card
120 gig ATA133 hard drive, 8 meg cache
Windows XP Pro with SP2

I run at stock resolution, environmental effects are off (hate see-through crewmen), postprocessing is off but everything else is maxxed. I tend to average 40-45 FPS outdoors. It slows down to the 25-30 range in port or in a convoy.

Specs are in my sig. Running all settings maxed, 80-100fps in harbors, 120-200fps in open water depending on whether or not I have other ships in the area.

P4 3.2ghz

2GB RAM

GeForce 7900GT

Audigy 2

SATA150

Game runs fine @ 1280x1024 32bbp with everything maxed but post processing off. I get minor slowdowns when entering harbor, though.

With the right settings the game runs surprisingly well on a low spec machine.

I have:
AMD Athlon 1700
768mb ram
200gb hdd
ATI Radeon 9600/256dram

Unplayable I would have thought, however after some experimentation with settings, I found all settings to min except ship 3d damage to max. All boxes unchecked except environmental effects, 3d wakes and detailed wave ripples.

I was presently surprised that environmental effects had little slowdown on my system considering other comments I have read here. I love the transparent water.
Frame rates are 15- 20 fps assuming I don’t see the rectangle of doom, or sail into a busy port its just about playable. The biggest effect on frame rate is Normal Maps On… no I idea what this means but it causes slowdown to unplayable.

Cant wait for the 1.2 patch… and to see what the GWX team do with this game.

There are a lot of configuration files in the shaders folder, all can be oppened with a tex editor , perhaps dev team or modders can improve a bit the performance.

this files seems to be writted with HLSL (High level shading lenguage) or use a very similar instructions

there are a lot of samples in some pages.

2.6ghz (HT) Intel
1.3GB ram (2700PCM)
ATI RADEON x800XL 8x agp
Audigy 4

This game runs all good, better than I expected. The screenshots at gamespot looked like it could kill my rig but it didn't.

Regular 40-50 fps. Battle 20-30 fps. according to 1440x 900 Widescreen graphics on medium
