^ This is more creative and atmospheric than the painting!

Thanks, mate... I've already made some minor but important changes (side window framing and nose turret area)... looking at a small image like this helps no end in spotting errors before varnishing

Chicken greetings card
I haven't been asked to do a card design for many years now; most publishers seem to design their own stuff in-house on computers these days, but there are still a few working in the traditional way. By and large, these will be the companies who favour 'traditional' styled artwork too and one of these is "Country Cards", who've published my work a number of times in the distant past I got this little pack of 'freebies' yesterday... something the smaller publishers are also more likely to do for you than the big ones

You were almost headed in the right direction. Although I have painted many small 'potboilers' in the style of Cortes, this impressionistic painting by Leo Lesser Ury (1861-1931) was the original inspiration for these street scenes.
My agent once sent me a clipping of the work from the catalogue of an auction he'd just attended. He said the painting was priced at £15000 and would I be able to do something similar? I said I'd do it for £1500 (which joke found its mark) and he eventually paid me £150 for the small (10X8") painting below: But of course I just had to have a go at my own depiction of the Brandenburg Gate more recently:

@ Aktung:
I found this old one of mine online just now... clearly painted in the manner of Cortes this time (the size was 5X7" on panel)
