Kidding

In the past, maybe 10 years the republicans have been burying themselves.

But the Democrats have been spineless through all this, the republican house and senate have absolutely owned anything even faintly smelling of Democrats, and the coward Obama refuses to use his position to push things through.

Love or hate Bush, but he knew how to use the bully pulpit.

Obama is weak, and I consider myself, for the most part, liberal

Totally disagree.

The Democrats owned all of congress for the first two years of the Obama presidency. They, not the republicans, still own the senate. Bush, the Bully Pulpit not withstanding, faced a completely Democrat controlled congress and was more of a lame duck than Obama is today.

Discussions on the Civil War are often not.

I dont see the point anyways, it takes about 2 seconds to realize a lost cause. Arguing politics is one such lost cause. Most people are so intensely polarized that nothing you could possibly say or argue, no matter how true and well thought out it may be, will change their minds.

Its that kind of tribalism that is turning this country into a dump. The people in washington are master manipulators. Most serve their intense greed, bigotry, or biased agenda by rallying people under a false banner or hide behind fallacies. And because people are so wrapped up into their whole GO TEAM attitude they fail to see through those fallacies and thats why this country is in turmoil.

I stopped watching CNN and MSNBC because the polarity became too irritating. My views began to level out into what they are now.

I believe in a fair American society. I believe people should be able to decide who to marry, what to do with their bodies, and whether or not to own firearms. I believe in equal opportunity, but no more than that (i do not believe in amnesty, or racial obligations or special treatment). I believe that a man should earn his living, but also that his life shouldn't be destroyed because of uncontrollable circumstances.

I believe that corporations have only one goal and that is to make money, at whatever the cost. In turn i believe that things like the deregulation of wall street under the clinton administration is the worst thing you can possibly do, leaving overwhelming amounts of money unchecked to be gambled away by banks that don't actually own that money. I do not believe that tax breaks for corporations create new jobs and that they simply pocket the profit. I believe that corporations have monopolized industries so they have no competition and can jack up their prices. Which leads me to my overall belief that we must defend ourselves from monopolies, price gouging, and corporate bribery.

I came to these conclusions after much deliberation, research, and personal experience. What ive also come to realize is that neither party feels quite like i do.

The republican party have put their interest in big business and largely christian policies, and i generally dont agree with the far right wing. I do agree with their desire to prevent the banning of firearms and their opposition to amnesty and handouts.

The democrats hold more of my views but fail miserably to execute. For instance, Obamacare may have dealt with the monopolized insurance companies but failed to actually fix the cost of healthcare itself. $300-to-produce medicine is being marked up to 15,000 dollar price tags. There's a reason our healthcare is the most expensive in the world and its not because were special. Obama has not tried anything to fix this. His views on racism, on illegal immigrants, on his short term stimulus plans, none of which i agree with. I despise the way the democrats have run this state in particular.

And so, in my mind, neither party is "what we need". What we really "need' is a level-headed, strong, and unbiased candidate. Which, sadly, isnt going to happen.
