Congrats-You must be very proud.

That is one big monstor of a ship. It seems all thes cruise ships being built now days are so boxy and tall. Looks like one good stiff breeze and she'll roll right over.

My wife says tell him to look out for ice bergs.

It most certainly is and I was on that bridge on Monday but have been unable to post the pictures because my internet connection at home has been down all day.

God willing I'll post them tomorrow.

Ohh How could I forget about my former work colleague.

She was some kind of waitress on of these cruise liners in the late seventies and the early eighties

She told me alot about her work on her ship. I can't remember wich ship it was , but I do remember that they had a regular cruise between Southampton and
New York.

I once asked her if most of these fancy picture of passanger sitting in the dinning room and having a good time

Yes the first 1-2 days of the journey. Then most of the passanger get seasick and sleeping pills and we that had to work got seasick pills

Maybe she was right about that. Cause I have seen video were Queen Mary 2 is in the Atlantic during full storm and you can't feel it. Okey she was on the Atlantic in the late 70'ies and early 80'ies

Her job was to clean rooms a.s.o

I don't think so. She told me she loved her job. She meet her husband(an italian) on that ship. Got married lived in italy for a few years and then they moved to France. It was when she lived in France she quit her job.

I Truly envy her and your son.

Whilst we were having our meal the manager of the restaurant made eye contact with my son, he beckoned her over and introduced us.

Her father was South African and her mother was from Sunderland which is only seven miles from where we live.

It's amazing how many nationalities you come across in a ships personnel.

Back from work and the internet is working again...so on to Monday 4th and the tour and meal.

Here she is at the Commissioners Quay on the north bank of the Tyne.

She is 285 metres long and the car park is obviously longer in length with very few cars, meaning any motorist entering the car patk (which is free) can park just about anywhere they want.

I've posted that information for a very good reason as you will realise soon.

On with the tour....the entertainment theatre.

Out on one of the boat decks and we meet the guy we saw earlier on the bridge wing....Nick, a deck cadet from Sweden...he does his watch with James on 8pm till midnight

My daughter Lauren doing her Titanic impersonation at the bow of the ship

The buna family

The bow looking down from the bridge

The starboard bridge wing

The glass floor viewpoint (I wouldn't stand on it LOL)

James showing us the master emergency panels at the rear of the bridge

The ships wheel (smaller than the one on my car)

Explaining to his sister how to steer a steady course LOL

The quick refernce LCD navigation map

His day office where he works out the navigation routes in advance (2 ports ahead)

The gymnasium

A hydropool

Hydropool continued

One of the indoor pools

The pamper area to the side where you can (for a fee) be wited on and pampered with food and drink and a massage

An outdoor hot tub

The aft end outdoor pool

The aft end sun deck

You can tell his sister loved the Titanic movie...the aft end version LOL

No explanation required

Don't ask LOL

A private pamper area (hireable) on the upper deck

The piano longe (not the best of collective poses)

The casino
