Not a true sailor. The so-called bell-bottoms were actually stove-pipes, designed to go on over the shoes, which means a real sailor can get dressed (or undressed) in less than thirty seconds.

I'm old, and experienced in feeling and dealing guilt. I can kill with a word.

I could get dressed, with my fatigues tucked into my boots, my flack jaket on and webbing on in 30 seconds, in 57 seconds id have my rifle from the armoury and in just under a minute would be outside thebarracs on my designated position.

We're not talking about combat or drills here, man!

We're kick ass enough to an air assault division.

And were so bad ass, someone named a Beer after us!

C'mon guys, get serious.

We need to establish the precise amount of time it takes a dude from each of branch of the armed services* to get in and out of uniform.

That way I can keep a list of said info and pass it around to every lady I know. Then if one of us ever encounters someone who is clearly only pretending to be what he says he is, she can reveal him to the world as a fraud and a liar. Disparaging remarks with regard to equipment, skill rating, and endurance under stress will be included free of charge.

I take the occasional dig at the USAF because whenever they're mentioned I notice a certain "look" come over the faces of most of the Army/Navy/Marines vets I know.

It looks like disdain but I suspect the Air Force reads it as envy.

A family friend, who is retired Navy, now works at Tinker AFB. Don't ask him how it compares to the Navy...

You know...... coming from a background in the AF where i actually had to work for a living, and spent time away from the comfy airbases, i struggled with this constantly. The looks were more priceless when you showed up wearing BDU's with AF insignia on it, in places nobody EVER expected to see the air force.

Regardless how much dirt you share with the Army and Navy (Seabee's in specific), you are rarely given due respect. After awhile, i figured out i didn't need to prove anything to anyone not in "The Horse." because they weren't schitt to me. That said, most "complaints" about the AF have some validity. I can't count the number of times i came back to home station and thought, "these people have it made and they don't even know it.". But hey, this is just smoke being blown from an Ex AF puke, so what would i know...........

EDIT:

Pictured:
Air Force Pukes, living the life of Riley, in comfy AC, good chow, and nowhere near the Army.

You know, it's always funny to see how Subsim threads evolve. I smile when I see how this has turned into an interservice rivalry thread. You never know where the conversation will take you.

I love this place.
