Thanks everyone for the kind words. Im really glad you all enjoyed it, I had alot of fun making it. I hope to re-release a newer version sometime in the future using episodic content and maybe some pictures with historical facts for use with SH3 Commander. That will be my next project but currently I dont have a timetable. The major problem I have is that I dont have constant access to the internet. This video should have been released well over a month ago because I just needed an audio converter to put the finishing touches on it. So if I dont reply that often to this thread its not because I dont want to Thanks again guys.

Where did you get this much colour footage? And do you know anything about the various conning tower designs, I mean some of them looked nothing like the ones we have in SH3.
I think the strange looking tower with the huge gun in the front could be U-A.

The other one could be an Italian sub.

MackTheGovnah,

Thanks for putting together this video and sharing it with the subsim community. I've watched it several times now and get a little more out of it each time.

A couple of clips I find especially interesting are the short scene wherin the the captain is looking at the recognition manual, and also the brief view out the periscope -- here are the images I am referring to:

Mack, do you know if there is a more detailed view of the recognition manual on the dvd's that you used, and were you able to tell from what kind of sub the periscope view was taken?

Thanks again for sharing the unusual footage.

As an open question to the forum: does anyone know of a good scan of an original "Erkennungshandbuch" recognition manual? It would be interesting to see exactly the kind of information that was recorded for the various vessels.

Hi Muser, sorry to say that that is all the footage of the recognition manual that the DVD contains. From the looks of it they used separate manuals for the different nations and his CE is holding the one for merchants. Also I have no idea what periscope view that is. The original footage itself was more or less a highlight reel and I started joining\editing from there.

Im sorry if I didnt answer the PMs. I dont have a steady internet connection and can only check this thread every week or two. To answer your question, the composer of that excellent track you hear during the opening sequence is one Morgan Casey. Check out his website at www.morgancasey.com
It's called "EB Roman Theme" and was composed specifically for the outstanding Europa Barbarorum mod for Rome Total War. If you havent heard of Europa Barbarorum, oh brother, you better run (dont walk) to www.europabarbarorum.com and get this mod right now. Its as good as any mod ever released for any game. As a matter of fact Ver1.0 was just released last week.

Ok, I am seriously considering disabling this mod!!!!!
The movie is so great I can't stop watching it and causes me to waste precious time of simming.
WOW!!! This a great mod indeed!!!

I can't seem to get the download to pop up on that file sharing website. Does anyone have another site that I might go to?
