For that price, I hope it's what you needed. It's a pain when a project becomes too expensive. I'm surprised the desk didn't come with a hole already there.

Pit Bull Mini Drill Bit Set

I suddenly realized that my tiniest 1/32" drill bit was nowhere tiny enough for the ships I plan on building. I saw a set of 1/64" bits, 12 for only six bucks (plus another six for shipping), and who knows when they would get here. I probably only need half of the bits in this set, and I already have a pin vise that's better than this one promises to be, but the whole set was cheap and it will be here in two days.

That was the one downside of that desk - no holes for wire mgmt. But all the ones that had them, I didn't like at all and they wouldn't have suited my preferred setup nearly as well. This one does save me having to buy or construct something to sit the computer on and gives me sufficient space on that lower shelf for everything else that needs to go somewhere out of the way but still be easily accessible.

Fortunately the hole saw is "multi-construction" which means it will work on just about anything, judging by the description. I'll just have to find a lot of things to drill 2" holes in so I can recoup my investment.

And if not you'll be one tool ahead in the "workshop full of stuff you'll never use again", which is something every handyperson needs. And if you ever do need it again, well there it is!

'Course mine is so tiny it'll get lost if I drop in on the carpet. Well, the bit anyway. The drill is hefty enough to be manageable.

Now I need to find a case to store all the tools I have that I'll never need again.

Well, I do have a toolbox, but since it's been my only storage for everything tool/hardware related that was small enough to fit in there, it's filled with all the extra nails, screws, nuts, bolts, and other tiny bits of hardware I've accumulated over the years. So I guess once I figure out where in the garage to store those, I can put more actual tools in the toolbox.

They make special boxes just to store that kind of stuff, with little drawers and everything. This frees up the toolbox to store just tools. Then once everything is properly stored in its place you can spend all day searching and saying "I was sure I had one of those!" That way you can finally give up and go buy another one, just so you can look for the perfect place to store it, right next to the other one that was already there!

I have much exerience with this sort of thing.

Yeah, the top of my tool box actually has a bunch of those little compartments with separate lids that snap down over top of them. It's come in real handy over the years, the lids are clear so I can see what I've got. Still have boxes of nails and anchors and whatnot in the bottom of the box, though. Those I'll need to get storage for in the garage if possible.

I'm a hardware hoarder, I've never taken anything apart and thrown it away without saving any and all hardware on it that looked like it might be useful at some time in the future. Usually if I need some little something for a project I find I've already got something suitable.

I still have the original 512 MB memory sticks this computer came with eight years ago, and the 256 MB graphics card as well.
