Default U-50 claim their first victims of their maiden patrol

4th Jan 1940

We are almost through AN16 which we have proceeded through submerged in the last 24 hrs to increase our chances of some early kills before making the usual turn around the Shetlands then onto our main assignment in BF44.We sank 2 vessels,1 coastal freighter and 1 small freighter for a total of 3.540 GRT,both were sunk with the deck gun at close range (approx 300m) expending approx 40 rds on both.
As soon as we pass through AN16 we will make another submerged transit through the area north of Ireland in the hopes of catching any merchants that may be heading for the Emerald Isle.
Weather has been good with only a moderate wind just starting to whip up right about now, nothing to worry about, for me and my men are a tough bunch and can take a storm or two on the chin no problem.

Kapt. Wilhelm Neckel
U-50

Well, there are better reports out there than mine at the moment (mainly more action packed etc),but if we encounter some proper action later in the patrol i'll be sure to let you know about it!
Really need to attach some screenshots to my reports from now on,I took a few good ones when we were shelling the merchants,or at least I HOPE I took them *goes off to search through the SH3 directory*

Careful with the screen shots.
If there too wide and don't fit across a normal monitor, your tekst also gets stretched out, making it unreadable. I generaly ignore those posts. Same for posters with wide signatures.

I will try and post a 'test shot' later, then try and shrink it down a bit.Dont worry,I will only ever take shots at crucial times like during a deck gun engagement,or when using the flaks etc, submerged attacks will not be done (probably),just to maintain realism.I wont litter the thread with 100s of shots like some do.Or,I could simply post a link to the page on say Photobucket, then go from there.
I'll see how it goes.
Hope 'my' sig isnt too wide.

Your sig is perfect.

Actualy, wide screenshots would not be bad, if the tekst were written in a separate post.
