First, you do not own this thread.
This is a technical support thread for my problem, so when I ask not to post off topic and you make a list to try and make me look like an ******* how am I supposed to respond?
If you call that raising hell maybe you should go somewhere else.

Might have found a solution, of course saves are out.
I installed the game through xp mode, then replaced the folder in my win 7 directory. Have put each mod in one at a time then checked the museum. So far the result is no more blurred or missing textures(Some random BB's and DD's), no instant CTD when looking at a sub, no error when I click exit game. It's a start, I'm going to start career # 13 ; get into 2 different heavy combat zones that I've memorized in the first couple weeks of the game, save before and after each conflict, and finally exit game and try to reload each. If successful I think I may have won a record for most futile time spent fixing something that wasn't broken. If the crashes persist I'll start picking apart the mods going back to step 1 rinsing and repeating.

~Thanks for all suggestions and support to this point and salvation may be just around the corner.

Alright, calling it quits for real this time. I'm out of ideas, and my patience is at an end being week 3. I did a registry sweep and I could have sworn jesus had touched my SH IV the way it suddenly worked. It was short lived. I've tried at least 20 different configurations and set ups, including using a disc version of the game. Thanks for the support and I guess I'll come back on the release of SH V, if I don't get deployed to basic first.
~Take care all

I haven't read all the post, but will chip this in. I had a problem that popped up as a ntdll error. I found this and just replaced the win ntdll.
Lil work, but corrected it for me. I think you just have a registry error nothing to do with the game.

First go to http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?ntdll Link may show an easier way or lead you though it.

Scroll down and download the file

Extract the file from the zipped folder

Copy the ntdll.dll file

go to start>run> type in: C:

go to program files then go to the "Internet Explorer" folder.

paste the file in the folder and also paste it in the plugins folder which is located inside of the Internet Explorer Folder.

This sounds so eerily JUST like the problem I am having. I am not sure if replacing the vista DLL with an xp dll is going to cause issues. can anyone confirm? 99% of the time I get Sound.ACT failures.

EDIT: IT IS A VERY BAD IDEA...BSOD on start up.
