Cripes man, I was eating eggs sunny-side up when Herring brought that up... Gawd! I will never be able to enjoy my eggs runny ever again.

On that note, we were watching The Thing on the Sci-Fi channel several weeks ago, and we had to call it a night RIGHT AFTER that scene. I was more than a little jumpy going to bed.

Great... Now whatever appetite for the eggs I am eating right this moment is gone again.

I've seen plenty of good horror movies, but the only one that ever really creeped me out was "The Sixth Sense". The unfortunate part about it is that you can only watch it once. After that, you know the twist, you're never going to be able to forget it, and it's just a fun movie to watch after that point.

Sometimes I used to like roleplaying that scene in bed "I see dead people"

Yes, that's the one. I wonder if people who have to use defibrillators have that scene at the backs of their heads. "I better watch out or it might bite off my hands".

Some movies have that power, they make a lot of people scared. Maybe Jaws was like that, people were afraid to swim in the ocean after seeing it, even up north where there are no sharks.

I humbly submit Event Horizon and The Bunker.

Both deal with a horror that exsists only in the eye of the beholder, a fear you cannot escape from or defeat because it is in your own mind.

I watched Event Horizon a few weeks ago. My wife was wondering what the heck I was watching. It is a good movie and does play on the fears in one's own mind. Lots of gore in this movie. Guys ripping their eyes out etc. They did not leave much to the imagination on the gore. I was laid out there for all to see.

An another movie I saw a couples of weeks ago, who was a kind of scary was the Happening.

Not some alien from outerspace or a precident who got his mind on blowing us all to kongdom come

But the nature around us,who had decided to erase us from the soil.

That was a kind of scary

Nobody has seen "The Bunker" ?

http://www.amazon.com/Bunker-Charley.../dp/B00020X90G

It's only got 3 stars on Amazon for being low budget and a few other minor gripes, but I thought it was good.

Too many movies sharing the same names these days. The Bunker I remember starred Anthony Hopkins as Der Fuhrer. He was rather scary tho.

"The Sixth Sense" was one of the few movies that actually sent a chill down my spine while watching it.

"The Changeling" with George C. Scott was another one that sent a chill down my spine.(I think they did a remake recently-Hollywood can't come up with anything original anymore it seems.)

Hate to admit it, but I really liked the original "Nightmare on Elm Street". Great premise. Of course, I haven't seen it since it came out and I don't know if I'd like it as much, but it does stand out for me.

My all time favorite has to be " The Exorcist".
Took my wife to see it when they re-released in 2000 or so with some extra footage.
Still a great movie, although my wife didn't care for it-she's Catholic and some of it hit a little close to home for her.
The sequel, "The Exorcist II-the Heretic", had to be one of the stupidest movies ever made.

As an aside-
About every Halloween time, BRAVO shows "The Top 100 Scariest Moments in Film" on TV. I watched the top 30 or so one night and was unablee to sleep afterward. You see all the best and scariest parts of so many movies.
