Did you try changing the compatibility to run it in Win 95/98 mode? Pretty sure I had to do this to get it to run on XP

I also reinstalled CC5 and tried out GJS44 (have also played Stalingrad a year ago).
What ruins it for me is how the force pool is handled. In CC2 (MarketGarden) you sometimes had to defend a town with just a couple of men and thats why every man mattered. Losing a tank or a gun was a desaster. In CC5 I always have a full stack of units (15 I believe) and there a ton of new units in the force pool. Maybe I run into straights if I play the game longer, but it should take weeks, and I usually dont play so long My first battles where the usual bloodbath among the AI. Probably I will quit as soon as I am able to throw the Allies into the sea. Don't know, I am going to install a vet mod and play some more, maybe that helps. Nice game and nice mods, but none of the later CCs excited me like CC2.
