Funny. She shows how 'unintelligent' she is by her very owns words on the subject.

Um, why exactly? Just curious

Are you serious? So this form of expression, spoken word, isn't OK, but the rest of the evening's form of expression, country pop, isn't?

Or, is it that this segment had a political slant?

Why should someone in the public eye not speak their mind?

Can they get their money back, since it wasn't what they paid to see?

If I go to a concert, am I paying my hard-earned money to hear a live version of their music, or to listen to their political views? Say what you want on The Tonight Show, but not on stage.

Do you not also go for the live music experience, the interplay and flow between the audience and act? I've been to some gigs where the said interplay resulted in head injuries. What you're referring to is a live album.

And you can hardly argue that anyone's right to free speech was denied on that night. Where does 90% of the recognition of the name "Dixie Chicks" come from? Every side had their say.

Watching all those losers exercise free speech by stomping on Dixie Chick CD cases was so unintentionally funny I cant stand it....

Good points, Tchocky, and I will say here that I'm not trying to present myself as the arbiter of right and wrong on political speech; it's only my opinion.

But I still stand by it. I've never been famous, but I've played music all my life. I would never make a political speech during a gig, unless it was a dedicated political affair and everyone knew what they were getting.

Ah, please, not another 'star' telling me about her 'everyday' problems and how the poor thing 'deals' with them.

Whether or not she was right to say it or not fact is she is, IMHO, annoying, as is her husband Chris "I'm so monumentally boring but consider myself so intelligent and important" Martin.

There I have exercised my right to say what I think of her and her husband.

Now I'd love for her to come here and rebuff my claim.

BTW I'd rather see people stomping on Cold Play albums. PPS what the hell of a name is Cold Play?
