Hi Seth, and welcome back.

I wish the same thing will happen with Cde Gibs, who is currently Keelhauled (banned forever). I hope mr Stevens re-evaluates his decision.

Thatīs not going to happen, his behaviour and actions were totally unacceptable. Gibs blamed everyone but himself for what happened and then even started to sabotage the board when he came back. We donīt need such people here.

Yes, and he could still be here if heīd chosen a different path. When we ban someone we always have a good reason...

Hey i never said you did not have a good reason. However just cause you think you have a good reason to ban him forever i does not mean i have to agree with it. All i will say is it is shame as he had done a lot for this community. That is im going to say on the subject.
Sorry for highjacking your thread Seth.

Fair enough. Generally speaking, itīs ok to disagree once you know about all the details of why someone was banned. To disagree even before knowing why there was a ban is kinda lame. Unfortunately that happened here in the past, one guy even complained about things that happened here on the Ubisoft forum, without even knowing any kind of details.

About forums and their Moderators/Admins

Gizzmoe is a Mod, from what I have noticed Gizzmoe cant just Ban people without Neal's aproval. Neal himself decide if the person who Gizzmoe Froze (Bridge) is getting a Permanent Ban or a Temp. Suspension.

that Gibs is gone is Neals decision, perhaps the reason for a permanent ban is in my eyes a bit hard but on the other hand I also Agree with it.
he was clearly deleting posts, that is sabotage. just imagine that you look for a Fix/solution.

Person A: How do I fix this?
Gibs: Posts his Fix
Person A: Thanks Gibs

now...he deleted that post.

Person A : How do I fix this?
Person A : Thanks Gibs.

You: Eh?! where is the Fix? whois Gibs?
that is just screwed up right there...a unregistred Visitor has to Register to get his Answer. an Registred user has to create a new thread about it.
the same thing in Debate's or Conversations which at the sudden changes because gibs earlier posted something but thats gone.
deleting posts leaves a Big gap and does more damages then you think.
I dont know that it works this way but If someone Deletes his post that is a Thread Starter (when you create a Thread) doesnt the Thread dissapear when you deleted the first Post? if so...then who is given the right to do so?

just dont delete posts for no good reason. if you delete the post keep in mind that ur post is completly unsupportive for that thread (ex: a couple of smiley's with LOL!)

but ok, just dont point the finger at Gizzmoe that he is the one who banned Gibs, he has thrown him into the bridge before he did even more damages to those threads by deleting posts , and Neal after he heard what he has done, and saw it for himself , he gave the final decision and banned Gibs forever for it. End of story. Sorry for gibs he was a good fella but he should have known better as a Subsim.com Veteran.

I have been on a couple of Communities before where Admins and Mods where a pain in the ass , they abused their powers and just whiped threads or banned people for no good reason at all.

Thatīs right. Moderators decide bans or a temporary suspension, but Neal has the final say. If Neal disagrees because there isnīt a very good reason there wonīt be a ban.

Welcome back, Seth!

I don't know why you received the temporary ban, nor do I wish to know, as it isn't any of my business.

This said, I have great respect for the moderators here. This community is nothing short of fantastic. A good part of the reason for this (in my opinion) is that the forum rules are enforced. As a former moderator of a gaming site, I can attest that it's not an easy job and is very often thankless. Without proper moderation, however, things can get ugly fast.

From what I've seen, you'd really need to work at it to receive a permanent ban here on SubSim. In essence, you'd have to make the decision for yourself. As for temporary bans, well... everyone makes mistakes.
