Don't worry Highbury, we are all starting to see that Kurshio likes to post mainly to get reactions. Even his ugly yellow sig is to get reactions 'electronic incests'
Carefull kurshio, the moderators here won't tolerate much more...

Virtual Sailor is the better choice for a civil ship game.
Well, thats enough for me then. Since Virtual Sailor lasted 15 minutes on my machine.

Ship Simulator appears to have better physics (including twin engine control) ....
But do not expect any damage model. My steel boat was rammed by a small tupperware sailing yacht, I was turned over and the yacht continued without a scratch :-)

That's true, there appears to be a financial penalty but it's unclear as yet as to the meaning of this in the game

Address this to the developers, VSTEP is a Dutch company headquartered in Rotterdam

The damage model of Ship Sim seems to be nonexistent and based on a monetary cost system. Virtual Sailor, you sneeze and you are sunk.
I do kind of like the missions in SS.
Problem with these type of games you play the hell out of them for a few days to a week then you never touch them again.

At £14.99 it's the same price as a movie which you watch for two hours and never watch again, a few days is still better than two hours, everything's relative.

Hi!

I have played the german version of ShipSim for about two weeks and never touched it again!

What I was missing?!
Na, only some little unnecessary things like: The Ocean, Waves, Weather, Traffic, "Time of Day"... things like that.

But the developers sayed, those will be available in "ShipSim 2007"!

Maby they'll add some of these "features" to the international version of SS2006.

See ya!

Hear, hear...

I like this concept a lot but I think I'll wait until 2007 when they finish it. I'll be happy to pay full price for something in this genre that includes some of these obvious basic "features" in it. The demo was very disappointing and as much as I would like to support this small "niche" market... I'd rather buy a DVD movie than pay for this game in its present state.

It gives me great sadness to have to rate this game with a big

Yes, weather has been included in the International version, to quote the site: "dynamic weather system including wind force and rain" on the forum they also said fog was included now too and judging by the amount of collisions people are talking about there may actually be too much traffic now!

If you have a German version I believe that you will be able to pay the difference between your version and the new international version and receive the extra features see the shipsim forum for details

Looks like release has been put back a week, Amazon and Play are now listing release date of 23rd June

Update... Whilst the game seems to have been put back a week in online stores such as Amazon and Play it is available now directly from www.shipsim.com as a download or boxed edition by post with free p&p to anywhere on the planet.
