![]() But thinking about it, they could be a serious option if the opp is a Kilo, for short range fights

And IF we ABSOLUTELY WANT TIW message, then maybe such workaround - SUBROC after launch drops immediately (not just out of the tube but near surface, to get cavitation) a small dummy torpedo (can have no 3D model or dummy model) that makes TIW message and shutdowns after that. It would probably work but not very elegant solution... and it would be TIW message, no "missile launch" or something... but could take your attention to look at sonar screen and see the missile transient. |

Hmm... we can do that I think.

The TIW message cannot be eliminated, as this is coded in the interface and engine.

The TIW message is probably not going to be added to the missiles either... after monkeying around with it, I don't think there is a good way to do it.

Ok, I did try something else and it worked.
I can give all underwater launched missiles a unique active sonar sensor that is totally blind but gives out a ping sound along any frequency I set, which would not only give an audio warning and an automatic newtrack from the Active Intercept autocrew, but would also be directly related in strength to the acoustic signature of the missile itself, so it would at the same time not be a cheat, and also give relevant information to the player about the missile transient. I like this, a lot. Expect it to be in LWAMI4. ![]() PS I'm not saying give each missile a unique frequency to allow POSID of launched missiles by type, all would share a single ping frequency on AI.
