Terrapin, you can't force the community to fight X1, and shut down your site. The community must do things by their own will, otherwise they won't want to do anything for you. Closing your site will kill mods much faster than X1. Some of the mods of the mod list link specially to your site.

Please, bring it up again. Your movement has been faulty and precipitate, but I understand that you may be angry. You must see that things like X1 won't kill this community. Closing a very important site will do.

But the mod hosting possibilities will be very low, and that's a very important thing.

There are enough reliable free hosting sites. We could use Subsim as a directory site and simply link to Filefront. Even better, put all files on two sites, that makes it more reliable. Don´t worry, whatever happens, we would a solution...

But if we're always going to be able to gather mods from some place, then what's the point of closing Terrapin's site?

I don't get it...

There is no point, he´s just some kind of attention whore. He wants to hear that we need him, how much we miss him...

We like terrapin's site because... well... it's like our home. Why do we love our homes??? Because we live there; it's our community; our comfort, our warmth. Sure, we could use filefront and rapidshare, but it's not truly where subsimmers congregate.

I hope terrapin is reading this... When I get home from a rough day of life, and before I do anything else, I hop on my computer, check these subsim forums and read about recent SH3 news on terrapin's site. If his site goes, it will actually be as though I've lost a home...

Terrapin's site is the best, and I hope it doesn't go away anytime soon.
All I want to do is go hoooooooome...

Please allow me to puke all over the floor! This is our home, this is the place were we congregate. He hosts files, nothing more. He is totally replaceable. I don´t care where I get my files from. They are stupid files, nothing more.

Ok, HAHAHAHA! I understand ya, Gizzmoe... But it's still a cool site nevertheless.

Oh and by the way, i just checked a few minutes ago, and his site is up and running again. AWESOME!

Here I must say I agree with Gizzmoe. I wouldn't consider Terrapin's site as a "home", but Subsim (and the 24th Flotilla in my personal case, hehe) deserve that consideration. U-Boot Real Simulation is a place to put mods that can be seen or commented here in Subsim.

Anyways, I guess everyone deserves a little glory, right? I mean, even if they are only simply hosting mods...

Of course. It's a service for the community that is to be remarked.

Have you people never heard of a thing called site hijacking? Do you honestly believe Terrapin would stoop that low, after all he has done for us?

Yes. There was no site hijacking.
