i agree that SF will be getting the blame for every thing un forseen that happens on folks' computers--no doubt about that--

but day by day more and more people are encountering difficultys

maybe it really is a case of "untill it happens to me"

i'm not sure i want to wait until it happens to me before i decide what i want to do-- more and more of my gaming time is spent pondering this
instead of enjoying the game---when it comes to any risk to the computer it's self it really doesn't matter where the risk comes from...not keeping my virus scanner up to date- or keeping an eye on my firewall - or protecting my PC from any other threat---Star Force is a threat from which the only genuine protection is to not install any game which uses the software---at the end of the day it doesn't matter what any one says good or bad---if these issues happen to you then it's too late---

what the silent majority of gamers who never go near a forum experiences are with SF we'll never know--

if this is "hard core" gaming then it's not for me i'm afraid--it smacks of "the emperor's new clothes" to my mind

every other game i have with SF has allready been uninstalled--(those that did actually recognise the disc after the SF restart anyway)

I (think) I may have had a problem with SF, not long ago my DVD-RW refused to work properly, I had 3 attempts before I remembered the SF issue. I got the removal tool and then the I was able to use my DVD-RW again, so something must have been written somewhere to make it not work as it should.
If it wasn't SF then it seems funny it worked after I removed it.

same issues here Col- that coupled with the fact (cold hard unavoidable fact) that a high percentage of SF games have failed to recognise the game disc after install and SF restart leave me in absoloutely no doubt what-so-ever

http://www.star-force.com/protection/users/

It has solved all kind of CD/DVD recognition and burn issues on some systems.
